Step 1. Isolate ICAI Fees from Coaching Fees
Most “CA course fee” stories are a little too disconnected.
ICAI Fees This includes registration, exam forms and the cost of compulsory training. ICAI Fees nudges with the country’s official Institute of Chartered Accountants, fees are the same whether you go on to join an institute, study independently or find a mentor.
Coaching costs: cost the institute charges for coaching, practice, tests and support. These are optional and cost anywhere from nothing to something and is the element you can compare & bargain over. CA foundation coaching fees are therefore separate from the compulsory ICAI fees.

Cost for exam form listed is ICAI September/November 2026 fee schedule. After the deadline, add 600 late fees. Cost is lower for one-group Intermediate (1,500 exam form) and Final (1,800). The ICAI updates fees from time to time, verifying fees before you submit your exam form at icai.org.
The exam-form fee is repeated each time you try. The registration fee is paid only once.

Foundation is the smallest, most popular where pupils select the wrong format. The lowest prices for the lower ranges give you recorded lessons or large group lessons. This does not render recorded lectures bad. Recorded teaching is so much good for good concepts and repetition. The idea is to understand what proportion of your fee gets you a human reply and what proportion gets you content and then work out whether that ratio suits you.

The headline fee is almost never the total cost.
